Mean Or Cute?

So, yes, I had nothing better to do last night than to snap a picture of my sleeping, fevering child, because the whole snuggling up with his kitties was just too cute. He's nine. These moments are becoming rare.

It seems we all either have something, are getting something, or are getting over something, but then there's the getting over something while coming down with the next thing... The house smells like yucky, mean germs.

Icky.

Icky.

Ick.

Insomnic Poetry - XXV

Silence
Be still now
Farewell

You are leaving so soon
Our journey had just begun
I want to cling to your hand
But I must let go

Farewell, my dear friend

I walk the misty ledge -
The mountain on one side
The infinite abyss on the other
Alone
Fearful
Still

Looking back I see your silhouette
I wish you would journey with me
I wish I could stay
But that is not for now

Careful
Slow
Steps I take
In Silence

Suddenly
Slowly
The fog begins to lift
The dark abyss is disappearing
Spring is revealed before my eyes
I wish you were here
But I must journey on
In beauty
Joyfully
Lovingly
Hopeful

A new journey has begun
Farewell, my dear friend
Farewell

Noah's Centaur Socks

Noah has been knitting his 5th grade socks over the midwinter break. I thought I'd snap a picture and share. He'd rather be reading Calvin&Hobbes, thus the background. They are using size 8 needles, and he chose a chunky red/deep-orangey variegated yarn at the local yarn shop. As I have a compulsive need to name socks, I have given these socks the name "Noah's Centaur Socks." Astrologically he's a Capricorn, but according to Astrosophy, he is a Sagittarius. Having to knit these socks surely brings out his fiery side at times. Grrrrrrrrrr. I think he's been doing a great job, though. Wearing a men's size 10 shoes, he has *a lot* of knitting to do. :-) -We're taking a long weekend kinda trip to see friends. Yay! We're all excited. Have a good weekend!
