Map

This is a map. It's a gorgeous map ten 7/8th graders (Noah's class) drew & shaded by hand for the school's auction that took place a few months ago. It brought in a nice sum for the school. It's a stunning piece. I just had the opportunity to create some over-sized postcards for the students to have as "memorabilia." I thought I'd share. Amazing, huh? (You can click on it and enjoy a slightly larger view.) Noah is known for his small, neat handwriting. Amongst other things, he wrote the "Key."

That map is AWESOME!! Not only beautifully coloured, but I love the little pictures associated with the countries. I bet the new owner is VERY happy with their purchase.

Looks like a great way to teach a bit of Geography too (which is something severely lacking in NZ schools).

Well done to Noah, he has beautiful writing.

I actually had the honor of "overseeing" a bit of their work. The initial rough outline was created with a projector. The lines were rather fuzzy & New Zealand had been traced as one big island. I did "rescue" that one! :-)

There was quite a bit of bidding happening at the auction. I'd say the original map is about 30" by 45". I forgot the EXACT amount, but it sold for roughly $600!
