Virginia State Fair

We ended up going today with good weather in the forecast. It was way too crowded and not old-fashioned enough for my taste, but we had a good time!

Sucking up some lemonade. $13 worth to be specific.

Chillin' with a full belly.

 Joyful, happy baby!

Some knitted creations on display - including my blue baby afghan with the blue ribbon.

Noah's lyre & Nathan's spoon on the top right.

Sweater with the red ribbon.

Now that you have been to the fair, are you ready to take out a loan after the day at the fair? Fair food/drinks are S-o-o-o-o-o exspensive . .

Congratulations to all of you on your ribbons. WHat will Miss Nuriel enter next year, since it looks like it can become aa family affair?

No kidding! Admission was $15 a head. Noah went on one ride, which was $4. Funnel cake $6. Lemonade $6.50! Didn't take long for $100 to be gone. Then you see hundreds of people & do the math... Beaucoup bucks!

*way too crowded and not old-fashioned enough for my taste*....exactly my sentiments about our state fair!! our grocery stores sell tickets in advance that are much cheaper than at the fair (half price ride tickets). our fair runs for 10 days and there are some discount days in there like student day and bring 5 cans of food for free admission day. we hadn't been in several years and then went again this year. we all agreed it's not something that we need to do annually. ;)

go with your ribbons!! so exciting that you all got one! all three of you showcased some beautiful work.

We only had a small town fest this past week and the prices were ridiculous there, too. I guess the oil spill out in the Gulf was the cause.(lol)It seems when there is a crisis of any kind going on, the prices on everything skyrocket.Hope all had fun anyway.
