Michaelmas is by far my favorite celebration in the cycle of the year. The all-school Michaelmas play is on Thursday. For now I hope everyone out there is slaying 'em dragons! The picture above was created by one of my 2nd graders today.
Hi Cadi! Also wanted to say thanks for the third grade link the other day. Definitely inspiring! I have passed on the Kreativ Blogger award to you. Come over and visit if you would like to play along :)
oh yeah....those dragons keep coming! I was going to tell you that Hauck (who worked with Steiner) was a fan of knitting for two solid years. Of course, every school is different. But it might be easier for a class teacher-cum-handwork teacher to have a year of knitting. Although, your class might be just gifted that way and need a challenge. Have you thought about teaching them to sew up and stuff? I think I am going to try to take one class period this year to show finishing techniques to first and second grade. It's been a "hole" in my teaching and we didn't really emphasize it in my training.
