I've been a-wandering all this night and the best part of the day. And when I come back home again, I will bring you a branch of May...
Mayfaire Menu. Yummy. The spinach pies were so good.Nate & I helped prepare some yesterday using a recipe from the Moosewood cookbook. (I did a search and was surprised to find a copy here, just click on the recipe tab.)
Noah as one of the Robin Hood's Merry Men in the 6-8th grade play.... A branch of May I will bring you here and at your door I'll stand. It's nothing but a sprout, but it's well budded out by the works of God's own hand.
~~~
It's a hot 90F/33C day. Nathan and a friend are strumming the guitar. Noah is resting with a headache from the heat. I'm going to fix some iced tea, put my feet up & get some knitting done.
Happy Day!
Hum . . . I wonder if any children hung Mayday Baskets on their neighbor's door knobs today.
Yes, Paula! :-) I came upon this blog: http://morningsunrae.blogspot.com/2010/05/happy-may-day.html Isn't that so sweet?
tell us more about this play?
do this kids just learn the play for mayday?
Narsingh,
Yes, it was an exclusive Mayday play. Written by the 8th grade teacher, I believe. It was fun. Lots of humor. Some singing.
Mummer's Plays for Mayfaire evidently included Robin Hood plays. http://www.robinhoodloxley.net/mycustompage0047.htm
CORRECTION! That wold be Mummers' Plays. As a (legal may I add) resident alien, I'm obsessed with spelling things correctly. Although I must say I have met many Americans who do not seem to be in control of their language. :-)
On reading these blogs you realise just how small the world really is and what a lot we all have in common. Spinach pie is a specaility of my parts. ERBAZZONE. we would use parsley raather than basil aand naturally parmesan cheese. The spinach should really be beet or chard or other greens picked locally. In some areas they add a haandful of rice. The pastry is transparent made with oil and kneaded for aages. Long life to spinach and remeber to eat a lot on this period so good for you :D from Italy
