Autumn

Two posts today. Vintage weekend is here.

I'm plain ole drained from the emotional drama that's being hurled my way in these final days of the pregnancy. I'm trying to find peace within in the midst of it all. I'm also feeling tired & a bit under the weather. Lil' Bean is certainly on the way down, too. I can feel him on my bladder. We needed to make a quick trip to the grocery store. On my way I picked up the "A u t u m n" shawl at the local yarn shop where I like to block things. I just love how it turned out. And I'm looking forward to baked chicken, homemade mashed potatoes & buttery green beans for dinner. Happy Sunday!

Inspired by Evelyn Clark's Swallowtail. I did a plain stockinette section & make one increases along the spine rather than yarn overs. I had planned on doing an extra repeat of the border lace, but I didn't as I feared I'd run out of yarn. In retrospect, I would have probably had enough...

I love it. Not sure that I'll keep it, though. I like to knit shawls, but I truly have a hard time figuring out what to do with them.

I love this. Going on vacation soon and would love this in black and a bit heavier--not wool, Checked Etsy and didn't see anything. Congratulations on little bean. Can't wait to see pics.

Sorry to hear you are having dramas. Not long to go now, and then you will have a little bundle to coo over and enjoy and hopefully take your mind off some things. :) Your shawl is fantastic! Such beautiful attention to detail.

Wow, beautiful shawl. Love the Autumn colour. Well, like the others have said, not long to go. Shut out all the external dramas and withdraw into yourself to prepare for the birth.

We're thinking of you.

Your work, collectively and individually, is some of the nicest I have come across. My mum raised me on doing crafts since I was knee high to a Hobbit, and I've spent my life looking out for interesting ideas of things to make, or styles to work into my own designs. And I have to tell you, I think this is the first time I've seen a book or blog or exhibit and wanted to make absolutely everything I saw. You are an incredible source of inspiration to me artistically through your crafts, and personally through your perseverence. Thank you for sharing your goodness and light with the world, mine has been better for it. xox
